The Conservation School has been successfully completed in the stronghold of Pangolins, Kavrepalanchowk. This episode of the Conservation School was done in collaboration with One More Generation (OMG). It was conducted in three schools from Kavrepalanchowk district for the 6 days in the first week of September 2017. This episode is more special because we have also introduced participatory art workshops in it. More than 100 students from Shree Ram Higher Secondary School, Khopasi, Samudayik Higher Secondary School, Taukhal, and Shanti Niketan Higher Secondary School, Rayale participated in the event. The best two artists from each school were awarded.
According to the students, they find the awareness classes along Pangolin art workshop were very informative. They claimed that they hadn’t known about the Pangolins before. Students said they added they will disseminate the information with her friends and family and play her role for the conservation of this species”.
We have been doing Conservation School since 2012 in different issues of environment and conservation. This special episode of it was focused on the most traded mammal species of the world, Pangolins. The main goal of the Conservation School is to enhance the awareness level of the school students and make them more concerned about the conservation biological diversity.
